race schedule despite having no title sponsor

(June 2006) Plans are under way for the
2006 Madison Regatta and festival, scheduled for June 24 to
July 2. No title sponsor has been signed, however, Budweiser
has signed as an associate sponsor.

by Crystal Beach.
Monday, June 26: Xi Beta Upsilon Miss Madison
Regatta Beauty Pageant. 8 p.m. at the Madison Consolidated
High School Auditorium. Tickets $6.
Tuesday, June 27: Fillin Station Liquors
Waterball Fight. 6 p.m. on Main Street in front of the
Jefferson County Courthouse.
Wednesday, June 28: River Valley Financial
Bank Bed Race. 6 p.m. on Main Street in front of Jefferson
County Courthouse.
Wednesday, June 28: WORX 96.7 FM Street
Dance. 8-11 p.m. at the riverfront at Firemans Park,
foot of Jefferson Street.
Thursday, June 29: MainSource Bank Media
Party & Madison Area Chamber of Commerce Business
After Hours. 4 6:30 p.m. at the VIP Tent at
the riverfront. (Open to the media, race drivers, team
owners, race officials, chamber members and their guests

The race schedule will include vintage, 2.5
stocks and Unlimited hydroplane racing programs on Saturday
and Sunday, July 1-2. The Madison Regatta Festival, meanwhile,
is in full swing, with the tentative schedule recently released.
The Xi Beta Upsilon Miss Madison Regatta Pageant is set for
Monday, June 26, at the Ohio Theatre, with the entry deadline
now extended to June 10.
The pageant is for women ages 18-26. Entrants must have turned
18 by June 1. The event is limited to the first 12 entries.
The entry fee is $75. For information on entry, contact Linda
Ralston at (812) 866-2416.
Entry information also is available for musicians wanting
to compete in this years Radio 96.3 WJAA Battle
of the Bands contest, scheduled for Thursday, June 29,
of Regatta week at the riverfront. To enter the contest, bands
must submit a demo tape and contact information to Moms
Music, 114 E. Main St., Madison. Or call Moms Music
at (812) 273-0366 and ask for event organizer Jimmy Davis.
Applications are available for the Cruisin Auto Madison
Regatta 3-on-3 StreetBall Fest, set for 8 a.m. Saturday, June
24. Entry fee is $60 per team. Deadline for entries is June
12. Applications may be downloaded from the Madison Regatta
website.
This years Saturday night fireworks show again has been
generously sponsored by the American Legion Post 9. The fireworks
spectacular, held at the riverfront, is free to the public.
On other nights, a Regatta wristband or button will be required
to access the riverfront.
Advance admission wristband are on sale at many area stores
and the Regatta office on Vaughn Drive. Advance price is $20
through June 25; $25 thereafter. Children 10-under are free.
Fans can purchase tarp spaces, VIP Tent tickets, Hospitality
Tents or RV spaces.
Watch for RoundAbouts Madison
Regatta Guide, to be distributed throughout the area in late
June. It will contain race and festival information and feature
stories.
