(June 2010) Madison Regatta race fans are getting
excited about the upcoming Unlimited hydroplane season, which opens July
4-5 at Madison.
This year, the community-owned Oh Boy!Oberto-Miss Madison will again wear
the U-1 on its helm. For the first time in its 48-year history, the Oh
Boy! Oberto-Miss Madison finished first in National High Points for Unlimited
hydroplanes for the 2008 season. That entitled the team to carry the coveted
U-1 designation throughout the 2009 racing season.
The team again finished first in 2009 and will sport the U-1 in 2010.
The season opens in Madison, moves to Detroit and then out to the West
Coast for races at Tri-Cities, Wash., and Seattle before concluding in
Doha, Qatar.
This years Madison Regatta has a title sponsor in Lucas Oil, which
signed on in April to back the festival and race weekend.
It all kicks off Saturday, June 26, and continues for a week leading up
to Indiana Governors Cup race on Sunday, July 4. For more information,
visit: www.MadisonRegatta.com.
Entrants sought

Xi Beta Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will again sponsor
the Miss Madison Regatta Scholarship Pageant.
The pageant will be held this year on Monday, June 28. It is for women
18-26 years old. Entrants must have reached their 18th birthday by June
1. The pageant is limited to the first 12 applicants. The entry fee is
$75 for applications received by June 5. After that, the application fee
is $100.
The winner of the contest will receive a $1,000 scholarship plus various
other awards. She should be available to represent our community in all
regatta related activities during the week of the pageant, June 28-July
4.
