SPARTA, Ky. (April 2004) Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum
recording artist Reba McEntire and three-time Country Music Association
(CMA) Female Vocalist of the Year Martina McBride will be among 19
top country music artists and groups featured during Meijer
Country Stampede June 3-6 at Kentucky Speedway.
McEntire will perform in June in
Sparta, Ky., at the Country Stampede.
The powerful female duo will join CMA and Academy of Country Music
(ACM) award nominees Darryl Worley and Terri Clark, along with fan
favorites Chris Cagle, Clay Walker, veteran artists Chris Ledoux,
Mark Chestnutt, Joe Diffie and Neal McCoy on the festival mainstage.
Up-and-coming musicians taking the stage include Andy Griggs, Craig
Morgan and Cowboy Crush.
McEntire is currently climbing the charts with her most recent single
Somebody from her 2003 release Room To Breathe,
which also features the hit single Im Gonna Take That
Mountain. In addition to two Grammy Awards, she has earned musical
and performance honors too numerous to mention. During her 23-year
recording career, shes charted one quintuple platinum album,
Greatest Hits Vol. 2, a quadruple platinum album, For
My Broken Heart, as well as multiple triple-platinum, double-platinum,
platinum and gold albums. McEntire also is the star of hit WB Network
television comedy, Reba, and earned accolades for her
Broadway performance as Annie in Annie Get Your
McBride was crowned 2003 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year for the second
consecutive year and the third time in her career this past November.
The four-day festival will feature more than 30 hours of country music
and is expected to attract nearly 140,000 music fans to the $152-million
