County Apple Festival

with locals and neighboring counties
BEDFORD, Ky. (September 2004) The 14th annual Trimble
County Apple Festival will feature two full days of arts and crafts,
music, food, childrens activities and, of course, an apple pie
baking contest on the streets of Bedford.

The Sept. 11-12 event draws people from Trimble and surrounding
counties and features many top bands from as far away as Louisville.
This years festival has a musical lineup on Saturday that includes
the Louisville Dulcimer Society, The Kinmans of Madison, Ind., The Sundowners,
an old-time country music band, and The Names, a classic rock band.
On Sunday, the schedule features Due South Band, a modern-traditional
country band, at 12:30 p.m. They will be followed at 2:30 p.m. by the
Doctors Band, a local favorite that plays pop and rock and roll music.
In addition to arts and crafts, vendors will be selling antiques, candles,
stained glass, wood products and more. The apple pie baking contest
is open to anyone. First place receives $100, second place receives
$50, and third place $25. For more information on the contest, contact

The Trimble Thimbles quilting club also returns with their quilt display
and raffle of a large quilt. Tickets will be sold at the festival.
The festival also features activities for children, including an arts
and crafts area.
The festival will go on rain or shine, and admission is free. Festival
hours are 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday (EDT-fast
