and Dimes Antique Show
offers bargains, quilts and more
(June 2007) For the sixth year, Nichols and
Dimes Antiques, located in the small farming community of Elizabethtown,
Ind., will hold its A Country Gathering Antiques and Garden
Festival. The juried show will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 9-10
and feature wares from more than 25 antique dealers and vendors from
throughout the country. The event is free and open to the public, and
there will be ample parking available.
Nichols and Dimes Antiques owner Judy Nichols said she expects up to
1,000 people to visit the show. Come early, and stay as long as
you want, she said.
The antiques show features country primitives, Americana and a variety
of folk art.
This is not a flea market; it is a versatile show highlighting
fine hand-crafted items, she said. Some of those items include
small furniture, quilts, house wares, decor and pottery.
There will be herb garden tours, and several vendors will be selling
specialty perennials and an assortment of flowers and plants.
St. Pauls Lutheran Church will offer baked goods, desserts and
sandwiches for sale. We want people to eat, relax and just enjoy
themselves, said Nichols.
