The Food Pantry has been in existence for 25 years, feeding those in the community who need help to make it to their next paycheck. According to Ruth Baxter, who oversees this worthwhile service, approximately 120 people are fed every month, and 600-700 are fed during the Christmas season with food baskets from the Food Pantry.
The Gospel Jubilee will be made up of three groups: “Hearts of Joy,” a trio from Hanover, Ind.; “The Infinite Realm” from the Kentuckiana area that has been in existence since 1969; and The Commonwealth Quartet from Nashville, Tenn.  These southern-style gospel singers will bless you with music ranging from old well-known favorites to contemporary praise songs.
The cost to attend is $10 for age 12 and older; $5 for ages 4 to 11; and under 4 will get in free. If a person wants to lower the amount they pay to get in, just bring up to five canned food items for each person attending and $1 will be deducted from the amount for each can donated. Thus, age 12 and over gets in for $5 plus five cans of food; under 12 gets in free with five cans of food. The money will be split between the groups for their expenses to perform (traveling, lodging, equipment, etc.).
Doors will open at 5 p.m. for all those attending the Jubilee. Bring a friend, family members, or just come out yourself and enjoy a wonderful evening of gospel music and help those in need in our county, in the process. For more information, call Tony Gossom at (502) 732-4928.
