car show returns
to Madison riverfront Sept. 1
members say they expect up to
350 vehicles in fall show
(August 2012) After a two-year hiatus, the
Classic Automobiles of Madisons (CAM) River Run car show returns
to the Madison, Ind., riverfront. Only this year, the dates have changed
from the usual Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

River Run XVI Car Show presents
more than 100 awards in all classes.
The CAM River Run XVI car show is scheduled all day Saturday,
Sept. 1. Registration runs from 8 a.m. to noon, with cash prizes given
away every hour starting at noon. More than 100 awards will be presented
in various classes, plus a 50-50 split drawing, event shirts, music,
food and drinks sold by area high school booster clubs and churches.
The club anticipates up to 350 vehicles and motorcycles to be entered
in the show, said club member Bruce Anderson. Participating vehicles
will be lined up on Broadway Street and Vaughn Drive along the riverfront.
The car show sponsors include the Madison Moose Lodge, Salvation Army
and NAPA Auto Parts.
Along with the car show this year will be a free musical concert by
two local church praise bands and The Monarchs at Madison Bicentennial
Park. Praise bands from North Madison Methodist Church and North Madison
Christian Church will perform beginning at 6 p.m. The Monarchs take
the stage at 8 p.m. The concert is sponsored by River Valley Financial
Bank, along with several associate sponsors. Donations will benefit
the Madison Salvation Army.
Preregistration is $15 or $20 day of show. Save $10 on entry and shirt
if entered before Aug. 15. All entries must be driven in. Awards to
be presented at 4 p.m.
