The RiverRoots Music & Folk Arts Festival, now in its 11th year, has grown to become one of the premier regional events for Americana, folk and roots music. It’s also an annual celebration of Indiana-brewed craft beers, with many of the state’s finest microbreweries represented at the festival. This year’s music line-up includes the legendary Texas swing group Asleep at the Wheel, as well as Sarah Jarosz, Donna the Buffalo, Parker Millsap, Jon Stickley Trio, Brothers Comatose, Lindi Ortega and many more. Fifteen bands on two stages will provide continuous music throughout the two-day event. In addition, there is a free warm-up show on Thursday evening, May 19, featuring Madison’s very own Rusty Bladen and the Latin-bluegrass fusion band Appalatin.
RiverRoots is also well established as a folk art festival, with numerous craft vendors demonstrating and selling their wares, plus the always popular Folk Art Village featuring period 18th century crafts and skills. The Folk Jammer’s Tent is being enlarged this year due to popular demand and welcomes all attendees to bring their instrument and join the jam. There will also be numerous activities and areas for children to engage and enjoy.
